Affiliate Privacy Notice
Last updated: 6 November 2026
This notice explains how Afojet Infotech (“Afojet”, “we”) handles personal data in the affiliate programme and in Refer & Earn. It adds to our main Privacy Policy, which also applies. The rules of the programme are in the Affiliate Terms & Conditions.
1. Who is responsible
Afojet Infotech is the data fiduciary (controller) for this data. Contact our privacy team at afojet.com@gmail.com (Data Protection / Grievance Officer: Manoj Vitthalbhai Moradia).
2. What we collect about affiliates
- Account details: name, email address and login information from your Afojet account.
- Application: your website or social channels, how you plan to promote us, your chosen referral name, and when you accepted the terms.
- Payout details: UPI ID, bank account holder, number, bank name and IFSC, or PayPal email — whichever you choose. These are stored encrypted and only shown to authorised staff when paying you.
- Tax details we may ask for before paying, such as PAN and GSTIN, to meet Indian tax rules (for example TDS).
- Performance data: clicks on your links, sales and commissions credited to you, and payouts.
- Messages you send us about the programme.
3. What we collect about visitors who use a referral link or code
- When someone opens a link with
?ref=…, we store a cookie (afo_ref) in their browser for 30 days that holds only the affiliate’s referral name, so a later purchase can be credited. It is a functional cookie for the programme; it is not used for advertising. - We record the visit: the page landed on, the referring website and a one-way hashed version of the IP address (used only to count each visitor once a day — we cannot get the IP back from it).
- When an order is credited, the affiliate sees the date, a shortened order number, the sale amount and their commission — never the buyer’s name, email, address or payment details.
4. Refer & Earn
- Every customer gets a referral code. When a friend registers with it, we record who referred them, so the welcome discount and the referrer’s store credit can be given.
- The referrer sees only the friend’s first name, when they joined and whether they have bought — no email address or order details.
5. Why we use this data
- To run the programme: review applications, track referrals, calculate commissions and credits, pay you and prevent fraud or abuse (legal basis: performing our agreement with you, and our legitimate interest in preventing fraud).
- To meet legal duties such as tax and accounting records (legal obligation).
- To send you programme emails: approval, new sales, payouts and important changes. We do not sell your data or use it for third-party advertising.
6. Who can see it
- Authorised Afojet staff who manage the programme and payments.
- Service providers who help us run the website, send email and process payments (for example our hosting company, email provider, Razorpay, PayPal and your bank), under contracts that protect the data.
- Tax authorities or others when the law requires it.
Data may be processed outside India by these providers (for example PayPal), with safeguards required by law.
7. How long we keep it
- Referral visit records: up to 12 months.
- Commission and payout records: 8 years, as Indian accounting and tax rules require.
- Payout details: while your affiliate account is active, then deleted within 90 days after it closes (unless needed for an unpaid amount or a dispute).
- Rejected applications: deleted within 12 months.
8. How we protect it
Encrypted connections (HTTPS), encryption of payout details in our database, access limited to staff who need it, login protection with email codes, and an activity log. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your account password private.
9. Your rights
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 and, where it applies, the EU GDPR, you can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted (except records we must keep by law), and withdraw consent or leave the programme at any time. You can also nominate someone to act for you, and complain to the Data Protection Board of India or your local authority.
Use My Account → Privacy & my data, or email afojet.com@gmail.com. You can block or delete the referral cookie in your browser; purchases then cannot be credited to an affiliate.
10. Changes
We may update this notice. The date at the top shows the latest version; important changes are emailed to active affiliates.
